Cancellation & Refund Policy

Effective date: 13 October 2026 · Last updated: 13 October 2026

At PujaPortal, we want booking a puja to be a clear and comfortable experience. This policy explains how cancellations, rescheduling requests, refunds and service-related complaints are handled.

PujaPortal coordinates bookings with independent Pandits. Under our current booking model, customers pay the assigned Pandit directly, and PujaPortal does not collect or hold payments for puja services.

1. Customer Cancellation

You may request cancellation before your scheduled puja begins.

To cancel, contact us at saurabh@pujaportal.com or through the WhatsApp channel used for your booking. Please include your name, booking details and scheduled date.

Under our initial customer-friendly policy:

  • There is no PujaPortal cancellation fee for cancellations requested before the service begins.
  • If you have already paid the Pandit, we will assist you in arranging a full refund of the amount paid for the cancelled service.
  • The Pandit who received your payment is responsible for processing the refund.
  • PujaPortal will help coordinate communication and follow up on the refund request.

Please contact us as early as possible so that we can notify the Pandit and coordinate the cancellation.

2. Rescheduling a Puja

If your plans change, you may request one reschedule without a PujaPortal rescheduling fee, subject to the Pandit’s availability.

Please contact us as early as possible with your preferred alternative date and time.

Any additional cost arising from a requested change must be communicated to you and agreed upon before the revised booking is confirmed.

A rescheduling request is not confirmed until we communicate the revised arrangements to you in writing.

3. Cancellation by a Pandit or Failure to Attend

If the assigned Pandit cancels, fails to attend or cannot perform the confirmed puja, PujaPortal will make reasonable efforts to arrange one of the following:

  • A suitable replacement Pandit, where available; or
  • An alternative date and time agreed with you.

If a suitable alternative cannot be arranged, or you do not accept the proposed alternative, we will assist you in obtaining a full refund of the amount paid for the affected service.

Since payment is made directly to the Pandit, the Pandit who received the payment is responsible for processing the refund. PujaPortal will assist with communication and follow-up.

4. Puja Not Performed or Service Not Delivered as Agreed

If the puja is not performed, is materially incomplete or is materially different from the service confirmed with you, please contact us promptly.

Include your booking details and a description of the issue. Where reasonably possible, you may also provide relevant supporting information.

We will review the circumstances and coordinate with you and the Pandit to identify an appropriate resolution. Depending on the issue, this may include:

  • Completing the agreed service, where appropriate.
  • Rescheduling the puja.
  • Arranging a partial refund.
  • Assisting with a full refund.

Any resolution will depend on the circumstances, the service agreed upon and applicable law.

5. Refund Processing

PujaPortal does not currently collect or hold payments for puja services. Customers pay the assigned Pandit directly.

Accordingly:

  • The Pandit who received the payment is responsible for processing an applicable refund.
  • PujaPortal will assist with communication and follow-up.
  • The actual time required for a refund may depend on the Pandit and the payment method used.
  • We will communicate relevant updates when available.

We will not describe a refund as completed until we have confirmation that it has been processed.

6. How to Request a Cancellation, Refund or Resolution

To request a cancellation, reschedule or refund, contact:

Please provide your name, booking date, puja requested and a brief explanation of your request.

We will review your request and aim to respond promptly. For complaints, we may contact the assigned Pandit to understand the circumstances and coordinate an appropriate resolution.

7. Consumer Rights

This policy does not remove or restrict any cancellation, refund or other rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

Depending on your location, the type of service and the timing of the booking, additional consumer-protection rights may apply.

If this policy conflicts with a mandatory legal right available to you, the applicable legal right will prevail.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as PujaPortal’s booking process and services evolve.

Any updated version will be published on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date.
